AJ Allmendinger Wins Triple Overtime Thriller at Michigan: Standing in front of an enthusiastic Michigan International Speedway grandstands after his victory burnout, Kaulig Racing’s A.J. Leading a race-high 70 laps, #16-AJ Allmendinger won Saturday’s New Holland 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race in triple overtime. It’s Allmendinger’s third win of the season, and second NASCAR win in the last six days after winning the inaugural Cup Series race on the Indianapolis road course.
#19-Brandon Jones tied his best finish of the season in second. #9-Noah Gragson, #1-Josh Berry and #20-Harrison Burton rounded out the top five.
#7-Justin Allgaier finished sixth, with #98-Riley Herbst, #02-Brett Moffitt, #48-Jade Buford and #61-Bubba Wallace made up the rest of the top 10.
#22-Austin Cindric won the opening stage, but was involved in a multi-car pileup at the beginning of the second stage. Allmendinger picked off an additional playoff point by winning Stage 2.
There were 13 lead changes among six drivers and nine cautions for 43 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 115.619 mph.
