  • Sinica Motorsports Cup plans still not known: Sinica Motorsports attempted the Homestead-Miami Speedway's Cup race in November, missing the show with Grant Enfinger in the #93. At the time, the team said it planned to run the full 2012 schedule, but has not made an attempt so far. Enfinger parted ways with the team and SM ceded its #93 to the even-newer BK Racing team. The team still has not announced when it will debut and there is no Sprint Cup information on its site, though their website does list that they own the #84 Sprint Cup Chevy. The team is running in the ARCA Series with driver Brian Keselowski, the elder brother to Brad, who has raced off and on in recent years for his own race team.(WSB Radio)(3-8-2012)

  • Red Bull Owners Points changing hands? UPDATE: Been told that Thomas Ueberall [Red Bull's race director] is now listed as the owner of the #83 and now #93 [was #4] team owner points. Sinica Motorsports attempted to run Homestead running the #93, but their website now shows no car number and facebook and twitter pages no longer work. Ueberall may be listed as the owner when the new owners take place, due to the points. Supposedly part owners of TRG Motorsports are rumored to be buying the assets from Red Bull Racing.(2-3-2012)
UPDATE: Sinica Motorsports will be running a partial Sprint Cup schedule this year with a new car number to be released soon. The team will continue to run Chevys.(Sinica Motorsports)(2-6-2012)

  • #93 team releases driver: Sinica Motorsports Inc. has decided to release rookie driver Grant Enfinger. The future of the team is critical and everyone felt it was the best decision to be made at this time. Enfinger who had been hired on only made one attempt to qualify which came at the final race of the 2011 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "We wish Grant success in his future career. Sinica Motorsports would like to thank all of its sponsors including Hewe's Concrete Polishing, Wixe Radio, Sterler Productions, and Ham Insurance Agency for their support" Since the release of Enfinger the team has spoken to several drivers including 2004 Sprint Cup Champion Kurt Busch who was recently released by Penske Racing.(Sinica Motorsports PR)(12-15-2011)

  • New team to debut at Phoenix?: UPDATE: Sinica Motorsports, a newly formed Sprint Cup Series team and founded late last month, announced plans to debut at the newly repaved Phoenix International Raceway this November. Sinica Motorsports has revealed they are locked into the race with a driver [since they have no owners points, speculation is that the driver is a past Sprint Cup champ, Bill Elliott? or Terry Labonte?] and crew chief announcement coming soon. The team will field a Chevy Impala [former RCR Chevy's] adorned with the #93. WIXE 1190, "The Mighty 1190," is listed as the team's sponsor, with over 15 separate businesses or individuals listed as "official team supporters." The team says they are licensed by NASCAR. UPDATE: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will have a new team competing in the 2012 season. Sinica Motorsports has teamed with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA Series driver Grant Enfinger to compete in the #93 Chevy Impala for 10 to 15 races. Allen Wellman will serve as crew chief for the new team, which hopes to run at least one event this year out of its shop in Monroe, N.C. Sinica Motorsports, owned by George Sinica, has acquired race cars from Richard Childress Racing and may use either an Earnhardt Ganassi Racing or RCR engine. "This is a dream come true for me," said Enfinger. "I have not raced at this caliber yet but am looking forward to the challenge. This is something I have been working for all my life. I can't say enough about everybody here at Sinica Motorsports for giving me this opportunity. I feel like there are big things around the corner." Sinica Motorsports also plans to test sometime later this season with Enfinger.(Charlotte Motor Speedway(10-14-2011)
