It was announced on 8-8 that Budweiser will be the official beer of NASCAR starting in 1998. As rumored here the Busch Clash will become the Bud Shootout. Instead of having a wild card draw like the Clash did, there will be a 25 lap race (under the green flag) before the Bud Shootout pitting the previous season’s fastest second round qualifiers with the winner going to the Shootout. The Busch Pole Award will now become the Bud Pole Award(NASCAR Online)(8-7-97)
