cup owner of the #12 Chevy that Jeff Purvis drove in a few race in WC during the 1997 season still has no primary sponsor in WC but he will have a couple of WC cars ready for 1998 and they are still actively pursuing sponsors in WC and Busch. He will be forced to run only a very few races in Winston Cup if sponsorship doesn’t come. Purvis will still drive any Cup dates for Lockamy even though he left the Lockamy Busch #28 so he could run with James Finch #4 Lance Crackers sponsored effort in Busch.(11-22-97)
