Some CBS affiliates are listening and responding to the readers about the Bud Shootout not being show or cutting away form it(see next story) – ONE example: From WMBD Channel 31, Peoria, IL: “We made a big, big mistake and the only thing I can do is apologize for it. I take full responsibility for cutting out of NASCAR because I am ultimately responsible for good communications within this building and that didn’t happen Sunday. Our policy is to NEVER cut out of any NASCAR event, ever. Unfortunately, we had a person working master control who was unaware of that policy. That isn’t her fault…it’s mine. This will not happen again, but I know that’s little consolation when the climatic moment of a race is dropped.
