Bobby Labonte announced in victory lane that he would donate his winnings from the Diamond Hill Plywood 200(BGN) to injured bullrider Jerome Davis. Davis of Archdale, N.C. was seroiusly injured in a bullriding accident in Fort Worth, Texas one week ago.(3-21-98) – A fund has been set up to help cover Jerome Davis’ medical expenses. Davis suffered a compression fracture of two vertebrae at the base of his neck when he was knocked unconcious and thrown to the ground head first. He underwent two hours of surgery Sunday and remains hospitalized at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. According to Justin Sportsmedicine Director Tandy Freeman, Davis is in stable condition but is paralyzed from his chest down.
