Parsons and Nead fined

NASCAR has fined BGN driver Phil Parsons and Gene Nead, crew chief for Parsons’ No. 10 Dura-Lube Chevrolet, $2,500 each due to their actions before Saturday’s Busch Series Diamond Hill Plywood 200. Nead will be suspended until April 15th and both Parsons and Nead will be on probation until December 31st, 1998. This actions comes after a garage area fight between Need and BGN driver Blaise Alexander. Parsons was not in the fight but did nothing to stop it. Nead was upset over an on-track run-in between Parsons and Alexander during the race on 3/15 at Nashville. Parsons said he would act as crew chief during the three races scheduled while Nead is suspended(many sources)(3-24-98) (03-24-1998)
