Wood Brothers Racing celebrating 25-year partnership with Motorcraft at Homestead

Motorcraft and Wood Brothers Racing are celebrating a 25-year legacy of speed and loyalty. To commemorate the silver anniversary, the iconic No. 21 will wear a special 25th-anniversary hood decal on the Ford Mustang Dark Horse at the NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Along with this celebration, Motorcraft is debuting a fresh, modernized brand logo, marking a rare update to its signature look.

For a quarter of a century, Motorcraft and Wood Brothers Racing have stood together, forging one of the longest-running partnerships and team pairings among active NASCAR organizations. Founded in 1950 and making its NASCAR debut in 1953, Wood Brothers Racing is the sport’s longest continuously operating team. With 101 NASCAR Cup Series victories and a storied roster that includes 20 of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers, the team has established itself as one of the most successful and recognizable organizations in NASCAR history.

“Motorcraft is honored to be a part of the Wood Brothers heritage through a relationship founded on shared values, professional integrity, and a relentless drive for performance,” said Chris Wallace, U.S. Product Category Director Ford Customer Service Division. “Their history with Ford goes back over 75 years to the beginning of their team. Since 2001, we have built a bond that goes far beyond brand logos. They are like family to us,” Wallace said.

Over the past 25 years, Motorcraft has become synonymous with the team’s famous red-and-white paint scheme and the signature gold No. 21—solidified as one of the most recognizable liveries in motorsports. Motorcraft has been a partner for several of the team’s wins, establishing a winning pedigree almost immediately. Entering the 2001 season, the newly minted partnership bore fruit in its inaugural campaign when Elliott Sadler secured his first career victory in the No. 21 Ford at Bristol, snapping an eight-year winless drought for the team. Among other memorable moments, the duo etched an unforgettable victory when Trevor Bayne won the 2011 Daytona 500.

Jon Wood, President and Co-Owner of Wood Brothers Racing reflected on the alliance, “When you think of NASCAR partnerships that are long-lasting, there’s just a handful that come to mind. But we’ve outlasted all of them. That’s a testament to the way my family has and continues to run this race team. It’s also all about the longstanding friendships we’ve made with both Ford and Motorcraft.”

A New Look for a Legendary Brand

As the No. 21 takes to the track at Homestead-Miami sporting the commemorative silver anniversary decal on the hood, fans will also experience the next chapter of the Motorcraft brand. Motorcraft is introducing a refreshed brand logo, a milestone for an iconic brand whose visual identity rarely changes. The redesign features a modernized font and the deliberate addition of Ford Blue, honoring the company’s deep roots while underscoring its commitment to driving the aftermarket forward.

“As we continue to launch the next stage of Motorcraft with our new Pro and Extend brands, it’s an ideal time to refresh the logo,” Wallace said.

From pit lane to local service bays, Motorcraft and Wood Brothers Racing represent unmatched history, continuous innovation, and an enduring drive to deliver. As both organizations look toward the future, the partnership remains built on the same foundation that has guided both brands for decades.
