I hear the reason for Dale Earnhardt’s poor finish at Bristol was not his car but a problem with their rear tire changer who twice failed to tighten the lug nuts which forced the team to bring the car back to pit road costing them valuable positions. Larry McReynolds told one trackside reporter that the car was capable of a top-10 finish(3-30-98), I also hear it was a hub problem(3-31-98)
