UPDATE on Cup Qualifying Per RPM2Nite: Qualifying has been postponed until Saturday at 10:15am/et, the 9 drivers who have qualified so far will have their times stand(including Speed and Cope) with Dale Jarrett on the provisional pole. There will be no second round qualifying. NASCAR is treating it as a rain delay. Rusty Wallace is scheduled to be the first driver out. The events that led up to the postponement: Derrike Cope crashed first, then Steve Grissom ran his qualifying and slipped but was able to finish lap, and then Lake Speed crashed between one and two and NASCAR stopped qualifying to check out the problem. No word yet on Cope’s condition. PRN Radio will resume it’s coverage on qualifying at 10:15am/et.(4-3-98)
