Jimmy Makar, Larry McReynolds, Todd Parrott and Robin Pemberton(Pemberton was absent due to team obligations) held a joint news conference to announce the formation of the Crew Chief Club. A release said the group “is designed to shine the spotlight on the hardest working men in NASCAR.” The club’s goal “is to provide fans with an insider’s look behind shop walls and into the confines of NASCAR’s garage area.” The group can be accessed on the World Wide Web at Crew Chief’s Club. They also will be marketing items with their own nifty logo that features a man wearing sunglasses and a headset in the middle of an inverted triangle.(That’s Racin’)(4-4-98)
