Chuck Rider, owner of the #30 Gumout Pontiac, has decided to keep Derrike Cope out of the next race, on 4/19 at Martinsville. Rider said he plans to ask Jeff Green to drive the car at Martinsville. Diamond Ridge Motorsports will not enter Green’s #29 Chevrolet at Martinsville, so Green would be available as a substitute driver. Had Rider’s team earned a provisional this week, Green would have driven the car at Texas.(That’s Racin’)(4-5-98)
