From Henry of Stock Car Fans: WC Owner points are used as tie-breakers in qualifying, and today we had ties for 3rd (Jeff Gordon/Rudd), 15th (Jeff Burton/Kyle Petty), 23rd (Dale Jarrett/Lake Speed), and 37th (Dick Trickle/Wally Dallenbach).
Those owner points are a lot more important than just tie-breakers though. Next time you see some crew busting their butt to get a rolling wreck back out in the field, keep in mind it may make the difference between making a race and loading up the hauler early somewhere down the road.(StockCar Fans)(4-18-98)
