Immediately following notification that Heilig-Meyers would not renew its option, Donlavey’s phone began to ring with leads on sponsors. He also received an offer to sell the team, but turned it down. He has been adamant about staying in Richmond. Donlavey could have a new deal within the next two weeks. Aside from sponsor concerns, Donlavey decides this week who will handle crew chief responsibilities. He has several members on staff who are capable, or he could reunite driver Dick Trickle with Mike Hillman.
