Hut Stricklin was in Talladega at Monday’s testing session, and he tested THREE cars: Once the track dried from late morning rain, Stricklin tested the #55 Chevrolet of Andy Petree Racing(which he will probably drive at Daytona); the #96 Caterpillar Chevy of American Equipment Racing; and the #1 Pennzoil Chevrolet of Dale Earnhart Inc. The #50 Bud Chevy of Hendrick Motorsports was at the track, but driver Wally Dallenbach was still en route when testing began. Stricklin said he was down there to test the #55 car, but rain messed things up. Drivers for the other cars are supposed to be in Talladega, Tuesday. Steve Park, the normal driver of the No. 1, is still suffering from the effects of a practice crash last week at Homestead, so he will be replaced by Ted Musgrave during testing Tuesday. Kirk Shelmerdine is expected to test the Caterpillar Chevrolet for American Equipment Racing this week as well.(SpeedNet)(9-22-98)
