UPDATE: Another rumor that won’t seem to die(but now has) — Terry Labonte leaving Hendrick Motorsports and going to Robert Yates Racing, possibly in the RUMORED third team with the #27 team and David Blair/Doug Yates listed as owners. I hear Kelloggs may even come along. Not really sure what to think and it seems unlikely to me. Doesn’t make sense, Labonte is a Chevy man, and I have heard that he and the team are signed thru 2000??? — NOW THAT DIDN’T TAKE LONG!! Check this out!! – Rumors began circulating today that Terry Labonte was leaving Hendrick Motorsports. SCR spoke with John Hendrick from the Hendrick Motorsports complex in Harrisburg, NC at noon today. Hendrick states, “We have a signed contract with Terry through the year 2000 and we have a signed contract with Kellogg’s through 2000. In talking with Kellogg’s this week they are very pleased with everything that is going on with Hendrick Motorsports, with Terry. I spoke with Terry last night and everything is fine. Terry wants to end his career with Hendrick Motorsports.
