Although Mast has had his moments – he is 22nd in the points and had a top-10 finish at Daytona – a sponsor has not been found. Burdette has apparently informed Yarborough that his personal largesse has reached its limit, and the Ford team will likely begin a hiatus from the circuit beginning next week with the Fontana, CA., race( SpeedNet/Monte Dutton ), not that is a shame for the team and Mast — just saw on NOL that Mast will be sponsored by Rheem Water Heaters for the Diehard 500( NOL ) — UPDATE 1: Wayne Burdette dismissed rumors that Yarborough-Burdette Motorsports team and driver Rick Mast were skipping the California race.
