From NASCAR: As the excitement of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series turns its attention towards the Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the next two weekends of racing, no one can deny the fact that through the first 11 races of the season, the competition seen on the track has been more exhilarating than ever. With one third of the NASCAR Winston Cup season complete, seven drivers have earned a spot in the 2000 Bud Shootout by winning a Bud Pole Award and eight different drivers have made the trip to victory lane. In addition to those facts, between the green flags flying and the checkered flags falling, there have been 229 lead changes among 34 different drivers. Probably the biggest change is 1999 has been the resurgence of the Pontiac Grand Prix as a force to be reckoned with each week. Through eleven races in 1999, Pontiac has accumulated 12 top-5’s and 29 top-10’s. See the Competition Chart on my Archive Page (NASCAR)
