After two months of preparation, AllCar Motorsports and the Air Jamaica Vacations Chevy team return to racing this weekend. The team owned by Dave Carroll will compete in Saturday’s Michigan 200 at the two-mile Michigan Speedway; and the remainder of the NASCAR Busch Grand National schedule. The team had a less-than-stellar start, to say the least. The rookie team with a rookie driver and a rookie sponsor wrecked 13 cars in its first nine races, and went through three different engine builders. The team decided to regroup after the June race at Dover, Del. AllCar Motorsports has been bringing in new mechanical talent and building new cars ever since. The Denver, N.C.-based team tested at Michigan at the first of August, and made additional changes with the cars in preparation for Saturday’s 200-miler. Steve Grissom, the NASCAR Winston Cup driver who has been working with the Air Jamaica Vacations team as a ?????player-coach’ since mid-May, will drive the car at Michigan(SpeedNet/Williams Company)(8-17-1999)
