Ernie Irvan was released from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital on Monday, three days after sustaining a bruised lung and a mild head injury in a crash at Michigan Speedway( WRAL/AP ), no word on his status for Bristol. If Ernie can’t go, Jerry Nadeau is now available and has Hendrick ties — UPDATE: Winston Cup Today Radio reports that Irvan will probably sit out at least the Bristol race and possibly be out longer. They report that speculation has Jerry Nadeau in the #36 M&M’s Pontiac while Irvan recovers(and I was just guessing outloud earlier) — UPDATE 2: Irvan plans an announcement today concerning whether or not he will run the Goodys 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday( Times-Dispatch ) — UPDATE 3: MB2 Motorsports has hired Jerry Nadeau to drive the #36 M&M’s Pontiac this weekend at Bristol in place of regular driver Ernie Irvan. Irvan was injured in an accident last Friday in BGN practice at Michigan. Both Nadeau and MB2 crew chief Ryan Pemberton confirmed Tuesday that Nadeau will stay with the team until Irvan is able to return from the injuries he suffered, which included a minor head injury and bruised lung( NOL )
