Ever since #28 owner Robert Yates announced that he and Kenny Irwin are parting company at the end of the 1999 season, drivers have been practically lining up at the door of his races shop, helmet and resume in hand. But Yates, who fields cars for Winston Cup points leader Dale Jarrett and Irwin, isn’t in any hurry to find a new driver for the #28 Ford Taurus. Among the drivers reportedly interested are Jimmy Spencer, Wally Dallenbach, Derrike Cope and Ted Musgrave. Bill Elliott and Ricky Rudd, owner-drivers who lose their primary sponsors at the end of this season, could also be candidates(Jayski Note: Elliott is not losing McDonald’s until AFTER the 2000 season). Yates said it’s going to be a tough decision( SpeedNet )
