I hear it will be a sponsorship announcement with Cheerios and STP — UPDATE: hear they may run STP half the season and Cheerios the other half, with the other acting as an associate when not the primary sponsor, anyhow should be interesting — UPDATE-ANNOUNCEMENT: Petty Enterprises owner Richard Petty announced today that STP would continue to serve as the teams sponsor until next years Pepsi 400 at Daytona. From Petty paraphrased: Thats when General Mills will step on board as the teams primary sponsor. The basic deal for the next two or three years, STP is going to be the primary sponsor for the first part of the season up until Daytona. Then General Mills will come on as a sponsor for the next two or three years after that with General Mills and Cheerios. There will be a lot of promotions going on on all fronts and they are working on the paint schemes. The car is still going to have 43 on the side of it and its still going to be blue. It used to be a blue car when I went with STP and then it went half and half. I figure well wind up the same way with… blue and yellow.
