at least for Richmond, Jimmy Kitchens will drive the #7 Team Marines Chevy. No word on if it’s a one race deal or if Earnhardt is out for good – UPDATE: Team Marines Racing is re-thinking its direction at this point in time but has not given up on Kerry Earnhardt. Team Marines Racing organizer Rick Rathbun feels that Kerry needs to acquire more experience and plans on helping Kerry get that experience?????quite possibly through an extensive testing program. Ed Whitaker Racing will maintain its position as car owner in this project for the time being, and since plans were made to compete in Richmond, the decision was made by all of the parties to go there and enter another driver in an effort to get the Team Marines Racing Chevrolet into a race. Jimmy Kitchens had been involved in the early phases of development of the Team Marines Racing concept and was asked to drive the car at Richmond.
