Effective Sept 13th, Mike Hillman has resigned as Crew Chief of the #58 SBIII Motorsports team. He feels that he has brought this team to a competitive level in Winston Cup racing and he would like to explore other opportunities at this time. He wishes the best to the team and would like to thank everyone at SBIII Motorsports for the opportunity that he has experienced during this season(SBIII PR) — UPDATE: Jerry Pitts has been promoted to Crew Chief of the #58 Federated Auto Parts Ford Taurus and driver Hut Stricklin. Jerry’s experience in Winston Cup racing will greatly benefit SBIII Motorsports. In addition, Greg Conner and Robert “Banzai” Hewitt have been promoted to Car Chief and Team Manager, respectively. Scott Barbour, owner of SBIII Motorsports, feels that these changes will move the team to a more competitive level of Winston Cup racing and is confident that these individuals have the necessary background and abilities to accomplish the goals necessary for each week at the track(SBIII PR)
