Yates Press Conference TODAY UPDATE 2: #28 Texaco Ford owner, Robert Yates has scheduled a Monday, Sept 13th, 1:30pm/et news conference for the Speedway Club at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte to make “a major announcement.” Notification of that announcement came through Performance PR Plus, the company that handles public relations for the Texaco account, the sponsor of the 28 car( That’s Racin’ ) presumably to announce his new driver, Ricky Rudd(many sources) — UPDATE: Team owner Robert Yates has signed Ricky Rudd of Chesapeake, Virginia, to drive the #28 Texaco/Havoline Ford, starting in the 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season(In part from a Texaco in house release) no term or other details just comments from all involved but I do hear Yates has purchased Rudd’s building, so it looks like Rudd’s #10 team will cease to exist.
