New Cup/ARCA team UPDATE:

Doc Watson plans to open a team shop in Richmond, Va., this fall. Watson, who co-owns a team with a group that includes Minnesota Vikings coach Dennis Green, said he is looking for a site near Junie Donlaveys 26,000 square-foot facility off Midlothian Turnpike. Watson plans to run two ARCA teams and eventually a Winston Cup team. Sprint car driver Rebecca Anderson, who has won three 360 Sprint races this season, is testing an ARCA car for Watson this week. The owner says he is not buying into or competing with Donlaveys current operation. If he can have his Winston Cup effort ready in time, he plans to run the races that run concurrently with ARCA events next season. The two series are paired at the Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, Pocono and Michigan tracks( Times-Dispatch ) — UPDATE: Rebecca Anderson of Houston, DE will not be driving the Doc Watson/Dennis Green entry in ARCA nor in any Cup races. Anderson has signed a deal to run 410cid sprints for Tom and Rich Rothe. The deal includes weekly races at Williams Grove(PA) and TV races in the World of Outlaw series(anon source)
