NASCAR officials have announced that, due to irregularities found in the induction system of the #45 Sprint Prepaid Phone Card BGN Chevy fielded by Petty Enterprises and driven by Adam Petty after second-round qualifying for the All Pro/Bumper-to-Bumper 300 at LMS last Friday, it has fined car owner Kyle Petty $15,000 and crew chief Jim Murray $2,500. Apparently, the car was found to have extra holes drilled near the base of the carburetor that allowed more air to flow into the intake manifold(Racer Magazine)(10-14-1999)
