If Dale Jarrett finishes 43rd at Phoenix and Bobby Labonte won and led the most laps, Jarrett would still lead by 95 points( That’s Racin’ ) and With three races (Homestead, Phoenix, Atlanta) remaining on the 1999 schedule Jarrett maintained his 246-point lead, and now only needs to finish 19th or better in each of the events to win the championship. If the #88 car were to lead one of those races, that number falls to 20th( Racer Magazine ) AND Jarrett can clinch at Phoenix, but it’s gonna be tough. He’ll need to come out of there with a 371 point lead.
