At least half the cars entered in the Checker 500 Winston Cup race had to do a little work on their cars after their first pass through NASCAR’s inspection line Friday morning. Most of the problems stemmed from the placement of the rear spoilers on the cars. Several other cars, most of them Pontiacs, had to do some minor tweaking on the noses of their cars( That’s Racin’ )
