Look for the #41 Hedrick/Rick Mast announcement within the next few days….that he will be driving the #41 Chevy with Philippe Lopez as the crew chief. Exxon is still the rumored sponsor and hearing BTI communications may be an associate of some sort — UPDATE: Rick Mast is now officially the driver of the Larry Hedrick-owned #41 Chevys for the 2000 Winston Cup season. His move from the #98 to Hedrick’s team has long been a foregone conclusion, but the official announcement came Wednesday. Philippe Lopez has also been hired as the team’s crew chief. Garth Finley, who worked with Mast on the #98 cars, has also been named director of technology for Hedrick’s team.
