Hedrick/Mast Sponsor? UPDATE:

Looks like the rumor of Universal Studio’s and/or Exxon sponsoring the #41 Chevy will not happen. Owner Larry Hedrick had talked to Universal Studios and Exxon but said that those companies no longer are involved. Hedrick was to meet with potential sponsors last week, but I have heard nothing. SpeedVision also reports that Hedrick actually signed Mast during the Atlanta weekend in November and that any announcement was put off until certain issues were resolved between Mast and his previous employer, Cale Yarborough Motorsports(SpeedVision) So the #41 Paint Scheme in my Paint Scheme Gallery looks like it’ll never see the track. Also hearing Mast may become part owner of the team and have heard from a few readers that Mast was introduced at the Winston Preview as the driver of the ‘#41 Universal Studios Chevrolet Monte Carlo'(1-17-2000) — UPDATE: Rick Mast said on today’s Winston Cup Today Radio show that the team is close to signing(99.9% sure) and hopes to make an announcement in a week or so. The show said speculation is that Universal Studios will be the sponsor(1-18-2000)
