hearing from very good sources that a new sponsor of the #41 Larry Hedrick Motorsports Chevy will be…….Big Daddy’s BBQ(2-9-2000) — UPDATE: on NOL’s Daytona 500 entry list, the #41 is listed as the Big Daddy’s Chevy(2-10-2000) — UPDATE 2: #41 Larry Hedrick Motorsports and Rick Mast has picked up a primary sponsor for the season, Big Daddy’s BBQ Sauce and Spices. This will be Big Daddy’s first venture in Winston Cup racing. The company was planning to sponsor the #90 Junie Donlavey Fords last season, but the deal came apart before last season’s Daytona 500. Also joining the #41 team as an associate sponsor is Universal Studios, which served as Mast’s primary sponsor last season when he was with Cale Yarborough Motorsports(That’s Racin’) and However, Big Daddy’s involvement in motorsports has been problematic, at best. They had signed a sponsorship agreement with Junie Donlavey’s Winston Cup team for the 1999 season, only to break the contract when scheduled payments were not made. Those problems also plagued Big Daddy’s planned sponsorship programs in other forms of motorsports last year, but company officials appear to have turned things around with Sunday’s announcement about their 2000 plans with Hedrick and Mast(goRacing) AND Team members said they believe the deal is good. Big Daddy’s will join associates Universal Studios and Mannheim Auctions. Team spokesman Jimmy White said the team also has another potential sponsor in line and will know more at Las Vegas.
