Michael Lingerfelt was released from Halifax Medical Center in Daytona, FL and flew home in Joe Gibbs’ private jet. He was up and walking with a walker within fifteen hours after his surgery, the better to get things jump started. The Tire Changer for the #20 Home Depot Pontiac and Tony Stewart is also a mechanic on the car, and could find his way back to the shop as early as next week, because he can’t stay away. No doubt he would be on ‘light duty.’ Lingerfelt was hit by Stewart in the pit lane last Sunday during the NASCAR Winston Cup Daytona 500 race. With the new shock rules, all the Cup cars are sitting higher and Lingerfelt was in a blind spot, unseen by Stewart(Racing Angels Newsletter) — UPDATE: Gordy Arbitter, who has worked with Dale Earnhardt Inc. and most recently with the #12 Fords of Jeremy Mayfield, will take over right-front tire changing duties on Tony Stewart’s #20 Pontiacs beginning this Sunday(That’s Racin’)(2-26-2000)
