North Georgia Automobile Dealer Billy Ballew announced Wednesday that veteran short track driver Bobby Gill would take the wheel of the #15 Billy Ballew Motorsports Ford F-150 for the NAPA 250 CTS race at Martinsville on April 8. The Billy Ballew Motorsports entry has competed in all four CTS events this season, Geoffrey Bodine drove in the series opener at Daytona until he was sidelined midway through the event in a spectacular accident. Bodine’s son Barry Bodine took the wheel for the next three races, fulfilling a four-race sponsorship deal with Line-X Quality Bedliners and Miccosukee Indian Gaming. ‘Bobby Gill has been very helpful to the Billy Ballew Motorsports team throughout the course of preseason testing. I promised him that we would put him behind the wheel if we did not extend our current sponsorship arrangement with Line-X, the Miccosukee Indians and the Bodine family Ballew said. ‘We have made every effort to secure sponsorship that would allow Barry Bodine to stay in the # 15. I cannot say enough about how I feel about the Bodine family and their commitment to this team. We will continue to work with both Geoffrey and Barry but I thought that I owed Bobby Gill this chance. Gill has most recently driven in the Hooters ProCup Series winning that series most recent event this past weekend in St. Augustine, Florida. In the course of the 1999 Hooters ProCup season Gill posted an impressive record of 5 wins, 14 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes. Billy Ballew Motorsports is actively seeking sponsorship and will continue its involvement in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on a race by race basis(Team PR)(4-4-2000)
