RPM2Night reported that the #88 Robert Yates team will have a Press Conference to discuss the Todd Parrott rumors, but that the sponsorship situation will not be addressed at this time. Quality Care/Ford Credit sponsorship runs out at the end of the 2000 season on the #88. Supposedly the team is negotiating with Ford to continue the sponsorship. Other rumors have UPS signing up as the primary sponsor of the #88 and Quality Care/Ford Credit moving to a Roush car, possibly the #6 where Valvoline’s sponsorship runs out at the end of the season and Valvoline has been downsizing it’s Motorsports sponsorships in other series such as CART and IRL. UPS has also been rumored to be a major associate with the #28 Texaco Ford Yates team but indications are that UPS is looking for a primary sponsorship deal(4-28-2000) UPDATE 5: Parrott Stays – Todd Parrott will remain with Robert Yates Racing and the #88 Quality Care/Ford Credit Taurus team, after agreeing to a “lifetime contract” with Robert Yates Racing.
