Twenty Four year old second generation driver Richie Evans, Jr. made his race driving debut this weekend at the Lonesome Pine Raceway(site is old) in Coeburn, VA(not TN). Evans was driving the black #61 Chevy late model stock car owned by his crew chief, Gary Hargett. It was Evan’s first time in the car, and his first stock car race. Evan’s started the 125-lap event last, due to a spin in qualifying and eluded trouble all night except for one other spin, and finished 18th one lap down. The #61 will run more ARA races this season, budget permitting as the team is still seeking sponsorship.
