To honor the memory of Adam Petty, killed in a practice-session crash last Friday at NHIS, Lowe’s Motor Speedway officials have placed a 4-foot by 6-foot flag in Victory Lane at the speedway. The flag is embroidered with the words, “In Memory of Adam Petty #45 1980-2000.” The flag will fly over Victory Lane for the next two weekends. Victory Lane celebrations for The Winston and next Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 will be conducted on the frontstretch and the speedway’s Victory Lane will remain empty for those two races in honor of Petty(That’s Racin’)(5-19-2000)
