from today’s St Louis Post-Dispatch – One hot rumor flying around the Speedway(Indy) is that Chip Ganassi, who runs the highly successful Target team featuring Juan Montoya and Jimmy Vasser, will form a NASCAR Winston Cup operation and hire former St. Louisan Ken Schrader as his driver. The story reports that Gannassi had lunch with Schrader ‘the other day’. Schrader drives the #36 M&M’s Pontiac(St Louis Post Dispatch) AND Driver Sterling Marlin is meeting with owner Felix Sabates and CART owner Chip Ganassi on Monday and Tuesday. The deal hasn’t been finalized, but Ganassi could buy 80 percent of Sabates’ team, which includes the cars driven by Marlin and Kenny Irwin(Times-Dispatch)(5-21-2000)
