Dallenbach tests Daytona UPDATE 2:

Wally Dallenbach and his Newt Moore-led crew will test Tuesday and Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the July 1 Pepsi 400. Meanwhile, the two #75-RedCell Batteries Fords Dallenbach will have at his disposal this weekend at Michigan Speedway will undergo wind tunnel testing Wednesday. This week begins a six-race stretch Dallenbach feels can provide a turnaround for owner Darwin Oordt’s fledgling team(Wally Dallenbach site/Galaxy Motorsports PR) UPDATE: Wally Dallenbach bounced between his #75 RotoZip Tools Ford stock car and a Corvette sports car like the smattering of raindrops at Daytona International Speedway on Tuesday. After a much needed rain shower, Dallenbach tested his teams qualifying setup for the July 1 Pepsi 400 and then gave the 3.56 mile road course a run through with officials for the Paul Revere 250. Dallenbach put the #75 stock car through its paces first under daylight and finished under the bright lights of the world famous superspeedway posting a best lap of 183.299mph. 1999’s pole speed was 194.860mph at the Pepsi 400 BUT that was before the new, smaller restricter plate was put in use(at Talladega in April). Dallenbach will continue to test on Wednesday. #88-Dale Jarrett, the defending Pepsi 400 champion and the 2000 Daytona 500 winner, will be joined by #28-Ricky Rudd and #25-Jerry Nadeau for two nights of testing at Daytona June 13-14. During testing, grandstands are open to the public, with access through DAYTONA USA(Daytona Intl Speedway Site)(6-7-2000) UPDATE 2: Galaxy Motorsports’ two-day Winston Cup Series test session concluded Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway with driver Wally Dallenbach still looking for more speed. Dallenbach’s best lap of the two-day session, which was interupted briefly Tuesday by rain showers, in the Galaxy Ford was 183.299mph over Daytona’s 2.5-mile tri-oval(Speed Magazine)(6-8-2000)
