Rain at Michigan Speedway on Sunday saved Rusty Wallace. His engine blew just before the second red flag for rain waved. Had the race restarted and the final six laps been run, Wallace would not have been able to continue. He might have finished as low as 37th, but since the race didn’t resume, he finished seventh.
