Post-race inspection complete at Talladega

Post-race inspection is complete following the 2026 YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

There were no issues for #5-Kyle Larson. He is officially the winner of the race.

Larson edged Byron by just 0.041 seconds in a race marked by two major multi-car accidents involving numerous championship contenders. A late wreck brought out the red flag after #22-Joey Logano’s car overturned, ending his race along with several other Chase drivers. Larson’s victory strengthened his championship lead as several of his closest competitors, including Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe and Ryan Blaney, suffered disappointing finishes. Larson enters Martinsville with a 73 point lead.

NASCAR will take the #35 of Riley Herbst to the R&D Center for further evaluation.

The Cup Series now heads to Martinsville Speedway for the penultimate race of the season.
