More Testing at Daytona UPDATE 2:

Both Robert Yates’ Winston Cup teams, #88-Dale Jarrett and #28-Ricky Rudd, will join Hendrick Motorsports #25-Jerry Nadeau for a two-day test session at Daytona on Tuesday and Wednesday(June 13-14th). The practice sessions will run from 3:00 to 11:00pm/et each day(Speed Magazine)(6-13-2000) UPDATE: Dale Jarrett, Ricky Rudd and Jerry Nadeau were testing out new cars Tuesday night at Daytona and were finding their speeds slower than their last run at Daytona in February thanks to a few rule changes by NASCAR. All three drivers had their fastest laps in their new cars with Nadeau turning the fastest time at 184.805mph. Jarrett had a fast lap of 184.049mph and Rudd turned a lap of 183.673mph. After having to give up their Daytona 500 winning car to DAYTONA USA, the #88 Ford Quality Care/Ford Credit team was left a car short, so they brought a brand new Taurus to this weeks test session. Ricky Rudd, driver of the No. 28 Texaco Ford and Jarretts Robert Yates teammate, was testing a brand new car as well as the car he won the Gatorade 125 mile qualifier in during Speedweeks 2000. The lone Chevrolet Monte Carlo sharing the track with the Yates teams was piloted by Jerry Nadeau, driver of the #25 Michael Holigan Chevy. Although Nadeau was without a teammate for tonights test, his efforts would not be entirely self serving as the test will help to enhance the whole Hendrick Motorsports team. Jarrett and Rudd plan to return for another test session under the lights at Daytona Wednesday(Daytona Intl Speedway PR)(6-14-2000) UPDATE 2: the 2nd and final day of practice at Daytona ended Wednesday night with the following speeds reported: #25-Jerry Nadeau posted a fast lap of 185.567mph, followed by #88-Dale Jarrett at 184.805mph and #28-Ricky Rudd at 184.049mph(Daytona Intl Speedway PR)(6-15-2000)
