John Deere announced today that it supports the decision by Roush Racing and Chad Little to not extend Little’s contract beyond the conclusion of the 2000 Winston Cup season. The company said it would begin immediately working with Roush Racing to identify a new driver for the John Deere team. John Deere said it remains committed to NASCAR sponsorship and appreciates the tremendous support John Deere Motorsports has received from NASCAR fans. The company said Chad Little has been a strong ambassador for John Deere and for NASCAR racing. John Deere wishes Chad Little well as he finishes the season in the No. 97 John Deere Ford as well as in his racing future(John Deere Site) AND Roush Racing and Chad Little announced they have mutually decided against extending their contract beyond the end of the 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season. However, Little will continue to drive the #97 John Deere Ford for the remainder of the season. Roush Racing intends to continue to operate the #97 Ford team in 2001 and beyond, and expects that John Deere will continue to sponsor the team(NOL)(6-28-2000)
