Debi Musgrave, Ted’s wife was diagnosed with leukemia earlier in the year. Ted Musgrave, who was doing R&D with Cal Well’s new Cup team then, looked at that program as a way of earning a salary and staying in touch with Winston Cup while spending more time at home to tend to his sick bride. But the deal fell apart and Ted stepped back from the sport for a while, subbing in the #60 Power Team while Geoffrey Bodine was injured and now driving the #01 BellSouth car for a few races. The best news of all – Debi Musgrave is improving and getting better which will allow Musgrave to look for a full-time ride for 2001. “She’s doing really good,” said Musgrave. “She has RH negative blood which is kind of rare. That’s the kind of blood that brings on this disease. She’s doing good but it’s a tough time. We’ll all get through it.”(in part from Speed Magazine)(7-30-2000)
