The three first time winners in this season matches a mark found just six years ago when in 1994 Sterling Marlin, Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Spencer won for the first time in their careers. While there have been 25 drivers, including Park, to score their initial career victories since the sport entered its “modern era” in 1972, this is the first season an owner has been able to claim two first-time winners.
