Chad Little appears to be a finalist for the Cal Wells-owned Winston Cup car sponsored by McDonald’s(2nd team to #32 Scott Pruett/Tide). Wells plans to run two Winston Cup cars next season and may put the McDonald’s car in a few races this year(Like Houston at Michigan)(Times-Dispatch)(8-8-2000) UPDATE: hearing Chad Little will drive the #97 McDonalds Ford in the BGN race at Michigan for PPI Motorsports and is a candidate for the 2nd Cup team UPDATE 2: PPI Motorsports owner Cal Wells III announced that Chad Little will drive the team’s Busch car – the #97 McDonald’s Ford Taurus – in this weekend’s BGN race at Michigan. Little’s entry in the BGN race is an addition to his regular driving duties for Roush Racing in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series(#97 John Deere Ford). The #97 McDonald’s Ford represents the third entry for PPI Motorsports this weekend at Michigan Speedway. PPI Motorsports will have a two-car Winston Cup effort for the weekend – the #32 Tide Ford driven by Scott Pruett, and the recently announced #96(thought it was #98??) Ronald McDonald House Charities Ford driven by Andy Houston. This weekend’s McDonald’s Busch effort will be supported with personnel from PPI Motorsports and Stan Hover Motorsports(#80), with Stan Hover serving as crew chief.
