BGN regular David Green will drive the #94 McDonalds McFlurry Taurus in tonight’s goracing.com 500 at Bristol. Green will substitute for owner/driver Bill Elliott, who is recovering from a broken kneecap he suffered in an accident at his home in Blairsville, GA on Tuesday (Aug. 22) afternoon. The last time Elliott missed Winston Cup race was the MBNA Gold 400 in Dover, DE. on Sept. 20, 1998. He missed that race to attend his father’s funeral. The last time injury sidelined Elliott was in the Goody’s 500 at Bristol in Aug. 1996. He missed seven races due to a broken left thighbone (femur) he suffered in a racing accident at Talladega on April 29th of that year. Green will start 26th(McDonalds Racing PR)(8-26-2000)
