Dodge Winston Cup teams test at Daytona for a critical, two-day manufacturer’s test scheduled to start on Halloween day. Ray Evernham will lead the Dodge charge on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The Speedway expects the entire Dodge roster to gather for this preliminary shakedown of the Intrepid in preparation for the 2001 Daytona 500 where the car will make its competitive debut. The teams and drivers invited by Dodge and expected to participate include Evernham Motorsports (Casey Atwood, Bill Elliott), Petty Enterprises Inc. (Kyle Petty, Buckshot Jones, John Andretti), Bill Davis Racing (Ward Burton, Dave Blaney), Team SABCO (Sterling Marlin, Ted Musgrave) and Melling Racing (Stacey Compton). This probably will be the first time all the teams representing the incoming Dodge brand will assemble at the same track together. The test comes immediately following Winston Cup’s next(an last) off weekend(Speed Magazine)(9-22-2000) UPDATE: the #93 Bill Davis Racing team and driver Dave Blaney will put their Dodge on the track for a major test this week at Kentucky Speedway(PitNow)(9-25-2000)
