Phoenix Testing:

Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman, spent two days at Phoenix International Raceway this past week working on qualifying setups in preparation for the upcoming Checker Auto Parts/Dura Lube 500 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race. Busch, who will bein the Cup series full time next season driving the #97 Roush Racing Ford Taurus. Busch is still unsure about 2001 sponsorship for the #97 Ford which currently carries the John Deere colors and he will have a special paint job for the Checker Auto Parts/Dura Lube 500. Ryan Newman will be driving #02 ALLTEL-sponsored cars for Penske Racing South next season in a variety of series, 4 ARCA races, 12 Busch races and 7 Winston Cup races; and then, hopefully, a full Cup season in 2002 with an eye on Rookie-of-the-Year honors.
