After the race, NASCAR officials impounded the two Fords owned by Cal Wells, the #32-Scott Pruett and #96-Andy Houston cars. The officials apparently suspected irregularities in the cars, perhaps due to a tip from someone at a rival team. No penalties were announced(Gaston Gazette) AND Scott Pruett finished 34th after a final-lap crash with Robert Pressley. Andy Houston, Wells’ other driver, was 36th. Pruett and Pressley apparently exchanged words after their crash. NASCAR officials interviewed Pressley after the race in an effort to assess what happened. The cars of Houston and Pruett were torn down after the race as NASCAR officials checked the wiring harness. Officials found no problems with the devices(Times Dispatch)(11-6-2000)
